Chocolate!

I have been avoiding sugar for a  while now. Once I have something sweet, my cravings return. So I simply stay away from sweet things. I love chocolate and I actually love the taste of chocolate without sugar. (A year ago, NO WAY!) I usually have a couple squares of baking chocolate with a cup of black coffee. I can eat this chocolate without the urge to eat the whole package. You wont find this in the candy isle though, you'll have to go to your grocery's baking isle to find unsweetened chocolate.

Has anyone tried this brand of chocolate? Please let me know in the comment section!

I love Brussels Sprouts!!!

Alright. I seriously love Brussels Sprouts. They are by far my favorite vegetable at this moment.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 lb Nitrate Free Bacon
  • salt and pepper to taste

Start out by cooking a pound of bacon. I recommend nitrate free bacon . I used my Ninja Cooker as a stove top, but you can use a saute pan on your stove too.

As the bacon is cooking, cut the ends off each sprout and slice them in half

Once the bacon starts to get crispy, add the sliced Brussels Sprouts. Do not drain off the grease.

Let the Brussels Sprouts and bacon cook for about ten minutes on medium heat or until the Brussels Sprouts get a nice brown color on the inside.

Enjoy!

Trying to be 100%

Since New Years, I've "Cheated" way too much. When I follow the plan 100%, I feel like a rock star. I need to start reminding myself of how good I feel (and look) when I don't slip up. I've decided to restart the Whole 30 today and continue on from there.

No more Carbage! :)

Easy Caveman Chili

A big bowl of homemade chili is one of my favorite meals. I came up with a quick and easy chili that is low carb and Paleo friendly. You can use 2 pounds of ground meat of your choice, but I chose one pound of ground beef and one pound of sausage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 jar (16 oz) salsa
  • 1 green pepper (or more)
  • salt and pepper to taste

I found an all natural, no preservative, gluten free salsa at my local grocery store. It was on sale for 2 for $5, so I thought it would be a great sauce for a chili.

Cut up your green peppers and combine in a pot along with the salsa and spices.

Then, in a separate saucepan, brown the 2 lbs of meat.

Once the meat is done, drain off the excess grease and combine in your pot. Mix the meat, salsa, spices, and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.

Easy as that. Enjoy!
